Los Kalaveras

We are Los Kalaveras, members compose of Eddie Rios on vocals/ rhythm, Jason Slaughter on Lead guitar, Johan Vásquez on bass, and Leonardo Guerrero on drums. We’re a small blue collar punk rock band based out of Houston, Texas formed in late 2022. We really call ourselves that because peoples brains break when we tell them we don’t like labels, so it’s easier to say it that way. But at the core of our music (whatever genre it may fall into, be it punk crossover thrash, surf, ska, or anything) are themes of working class despair that we and many others feel is being enacted on us. We all come from blue collar backgrounds, like the majority of people, none of us were born into money, we’ve all worked hard to get where we’re at and it’s still extremely difficult. There’s a sense of being left behind especially in today’s political climate and that makes us angry, and it should make everyone else angry too.
